Udai Pratap Autonomous College is an autonomous college of University Grant Commission located in the northwestern area of Benares. It is built in about 100 acres of land. It is an academic institution running in the campus and managed by the Udai Pratap Educational Society.
History
Udai Pratap Autonomous College was established in the year 1909 as a Hewett Kshatriya High School. It was established by Rajarshi Udai Pratap Singh Ju Deo, the King of Bhinga estate.
It was reorganized as a college in 1921 and renamed as Udai Pratap Intermediate College. It was again reorganized in 1949 and became Udai Pratap College. It offers undergraduate degree to Arts and Commerce. Science classes was started in 1950, agriculture classes in 1963, and classes for bachelor of education degree in 1972.

Academics
Udai Pratap College, Varanasi offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degree in arts, humanities, commerce, science, agriculture as well as education courses. It was granted autonomous status by the University Grant Commission and government of UP and got the authority to design and implement its own courses in this college, conducting examination as well as announcing results.
It also has study centre for IGNOU so that thousands of students can get distance education in several professional courses.
