History of Kendriya Vidyalaya, D.L.W. Varanasi
Kendriya Vidyalaya of D.L.W. was established in the 1978. At that time around 400 students were enrolled from I to VI class. Since then the school has developed vastly and produced various great personalities of repute. Currently, around 1655 students are enrolled here from I to XII classes. Kendriya Vidyalaya is the most reputed educational institutions in India. Kendriya Vidyalaya of the DLW in Benares is leased by the Railway for 99 Years and have taken around 15 Acre ground.
Previousely, upto June 1996 it was running in the DLW campus in provisional accommodation offered by the DLW. After completion of the lease, the permanent manufacturing of it was made by the KVS inaugurated by the General Manager of DLW, Sh. Rajender Kumar Jain.
DLW has two premises running in its own campus, primary section is in Narmada Primary School Building and the secondary section in the Shipra School Building. Kendriya Vidyalaya has a huge playing field where the morning gathering is conducted. DLW campus environment is very conducive and helps in a peaceful teaching and learning process. Students of the Kendriya Vidyalaya are scattering their fragrance all around in the India, not only in the educational field, but also in the fields of sports, games, Scout guide and cultural activities.
